Counselors in Training
for Rising 10th graders
Our Counselor-in-Training Program is a volunteer program available to rising 10th grade students. CITs are training “on the job” as they work alongside teachers and counselors to help give our Summer at Norwood campers a summer experience they’ll never forget!
This hands-on program will focus on providing real world experience to our CITs that will help them gain effective leadership skills, learn how to work with others, and understand the ins and outs of working with children in a camp environment. CITs will also have opportunities to meet with members of the camp management team to review and reflect on their days and to explore different concepts important to working with children such as: behavior management, modeling, leadership, energy and enthusiasm, and outdoor activities. CITs are eligible for SSL hours. CITs should contact their school prior to the beginning of the summer for a SSL pre-approval form.
Prospective Counselors in Training should be responsible, energetic, enthusiastic about working with children, and have a team player mentality as they work with their fellow counselors and teachers to provide a safe and fabulous summer for our campers.
All CIT applicants must be at least 14 years of age and entering 10th grade in the fall of 2022.
Summer at Norwood is now accepting applications for CITs for the summer of 2022. Click on the link below to visit the Employment page and access the CIT Application. CIT applicants will be contacted to set up an interview with one of the Summer at Norwood Directors.
