The Summer at Norwood director team, along with the Norwood School leadership team, continue to monitor developments related to coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of our school and camp community is our highest priority as we coordinate our planning for the summer.
Session Schedule Adjustments
On May 1, we made the difficult decision to CANCEL SESSION 1 (JUNE 15-19) AND SESSION 2 (JUNE 22-26) of the 2020 season. Families with campers registered for either or both of these sessions will receive a full refund, including the deposit.
We remain hopeful that we will be able to hold Sessions 3-7, scheduled from June 29 through August 14, in-person and on campus. We are diligently preparing for these sessions now and will continue to monitor recommendations and guidance from Governor Hogan and public health agencies and officials. Our preparation will include augmented safety and health procedures, as recommended or mandated by these officials, to ensure the safest camp experience possible.
1. In the event that we have to cancel a session for which your camper(s) are registered, we will issue a full refund for that session, including the deposit.
2. The due date for all balances, originally May 1st, will be pushed back to June 1st. If you have an automatic payment scheduled to take place on May 1st, this will automatically be rescheduled for June 1st. You will not need to take any action to make this change.
3. We will make decisions regarding whether sessions will be able to run in-person on a rolling basis. We will make a decision regarding the status of each session by the following dates:
May 1st for Session 1 (6/15-6/19) and Session 2 (6/22-6/26)
June 1st for Session 3 (6/29-7/2), Session 4 (7/6-7/17), and Session 5 (7/20-7/31)
July 1st for Session 6 (8/3-8/7) and Session 7 (8/10-8/14)
4. Should we decide to hold the session for which you are registered, but you have significant health concerns relating your camper(s) or members of your household that will not allow your camper(s) to attend the in-person session(s), you may cancel your 2020 registration and receive a credit toward the 2021 Summer at Norwood season. Requests for cancellations and credits should be submitted in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please wait to request a cancellation and credit until it is confirmed and announced that your camper(s)’ session(s) will be held in-person on campus.
Please check back for updates on this page or in email communications to registered families directly from Summer at Norwood's camp office. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay positive during this incredibly challenging time. We hoping, more than ever, that we will see you this summer.
