Junior-K Program

5 year old rising Kindergartners

Welcome Greeting

Warm smiles, greeting friends, sharing time is the perfect way to start the day

Morning Investigations

  • Investigate open-ended, hands-on, age appropriate activities themed in math, science, art, and literacy

  • Build, listen, and perform skills by receiving simple guided instruction from the teachers

  • Refine language development through longer socialization time in play

  • Exercise independence with adult supervision

  • Serve as role models for Junior Pre K campers

Recess and Water Play - Every Day!

  • Sand play

  • Sensory play using measuring cups, manipulatives, shaving cream, etc.

  • Play on the awesome water slide, the playground, and much more!

Lunch Time

  • Lunch for full-day campers

  • Dismissal for half-day campers

Singing and Story Time

  • A gathering time for the entire Junior Day program (classroom doors are open and campers are welcome to explore the other Junior Day rooms and join in gathering time)

  • Campers come together to sing fun songs and listen to stories, share in the community spirit, and build social skills

Relaxation Time

  • Campers can rest, look at picture books quietly, or play with puzzles on a blanket from home

  • Soft music plays and teachers sit with campers

Afternoon Explorations

  • Campers have the opportunity to explore in the Activity Room and join together for a group art activity

  • Imagination Center - puppet theater, dress ups, etc.

  • Reading Corner

Afternoon Recess

  • Sandbox, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and free play on the playground

Wrap-up and Dismissal

  • Campers gather together in the classroom and have an opportunity to share experiences from the day before preparing for dismissal
